National Security Service Addresses Reports on Pala Mountain Under Azerbaijani Control
The National Security Service (NSS) has released a statement clarifying that there has been no positional change in the Pala Mountain area of the Syunik Province.
“In response to information circulated by some media outlets suggesting that the Pala Mountain in Kapan has been handed over to Azerbaijan, the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia reports that there has been no positional change in the Pala Mountain area of Syunik Province, and the Armenian border guards continue to maintain state border protection in that area,” the statement reads.
It is noteworthy that Kapan's mayor, Gevorg Parsyan, had previously claimed that the strategically significant Pala Mountain is under the control of Azerbaijan.
