Moscow to Halt Its Permanent Mission to NATO
Moscow will halt the operations of its permanent mission to NATO starting from November 1 or slightly later. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, according to RIA Novosti.
“In response to the actions of NATO, we are suspending our permanent mission to NATO, including that of the chief military representative,” Lavrov stated during a press conference.
He emphasized that NATO had been informed about Moscow's retaliatory measures concerning the expulsion of Russian diplomats from the alliance.
“If NATO members encounter any urgent issues, they can contact our ambassador in Belgium, who facilitates bilateral relations between Russia and the Kingdom of Belgium,” Lavrov added. Previously, the alliance had recalled the accreditations of eight staff members from the Russian mission and reduced the number of permissions to ten.
