Mayor in Custody Wins: Russian Media Coverage

Russian media outlets have reported on the local government elections that took place yesterday in several communities across Armenia. RIA Novosti notes that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's 'Civil Contract' party suffered defeats in multiple cities. In Goris, the opposition 'Arush Arushanyan' alliance received 6,269 votes, while the 'Civil Contract' party garnered only 3,568 votes.

The government also faced defeat in Gyumri, Armenia's second-largest city, as reported by Kommersant. The 'Civil Contract' party received 7,786 votes, while the Balasanian Social Alliance won 9,631 votes.

Interfax highlighted that the mayor, who is currently in custody, won the election in Goris.
