Incident of Money Distribution by Supporter of ‘Civil Contract’ to be Investigated by Police

In the Syunik province, a media report about an incident where a supporter of the ‘Civil Contract’ party distributed money near a polling station in Tegh was sent to the Goris division of the Armenian police for verification purposes. This information was revealed in a conversation with ‘Factinfo’ by the Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia.

It should be noted that a video circulated on social media yesterday, according to which a supporter of the ‘Civil Contract’ was distributing money to voters near the polling station in Tegh, Syunik province. ‘Civil Contract’ MP Vahagn Aleksanyan issued a statement confirming that the individual in the video is indeed a supporter of the party, who was carrying 50,000 drams. However, Aleksanyan explained that the presence of the money was intended for the purchase of food for the staff members and authorized persons.

It is important to mention that yesterday, municipal elections took place in six communities of the Syunik, Shirak, and Tavush provinces. As a result of the elections, Arush Arushanyan was reelected as the head of the Goris community, while the ‘Balasanyan’ alliance won in Gyumri, and the ‘Civil Contract’ representative in Dilijan. The authorities particularly monitored the Goris community, where they faced defeat against Arush Arushanyan, who has been in detention for quite some time.
