«We will have very interesting surprises for the authorities» - Candidate of the ‘Tasibov’ Alliance

Participation in Gyumri is extremely passive, which is natural; we forecasted it. This was stated today, on October 17, during a conversation with reporters by Karapet Poghosyan, the mayoral candidate from the ‘Tasibov’ alliance.

“First of all, the fact that most candidates have been very passive during the campaign, and I mentioned in one of my broadcasts that this is one of those elections where voters must assess the candidate's sincerity. Because the authority is on the ground, but the people are watching that authority very closely and do not allow anyone to come and take it. They will only allow the candidate who has been truly sincere throughout this time and has presented their motivation for the mayoral elections with that sincerity,” he stated.

Addressing the remark by the ruling CP’s mayoral candidate that the distribution of 50,000 drams is not electoral bribery but rather social support, Poghosyan said that the CP has given a self-incriminating statement, which speaks to the fact that there are clear double standards before the law in Armenia.

The candidate from the ‘Tasibov’ alliance believes that this is one of the most conscious elections in our society: “I think these elections will be full of surprises. At this moment I cannot say for sure, but I am confident that there will be at least very interesting surprises for the authorities.”
