Local Government Elections Held Today in Armenia

Local government elections are being held today in 9 communities across 6 provinces of Armenia. Proportional elections are taking place in Goris, Gyumri, Meghri, Tegh, Tatev, and Dilijan, while majoritarian elections are being conducted in Shamiryan, Ferik, and Fiolotovoy.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, 17 political parties and party alliances are participating in the elections. In Gyumri, which has the largest electorate, 123,115 citizens are eligible to vote this year. A competitive race is expected in the Goris community of Syunik province, which has 22,262 voters.

Voting will last for 12 hours. All polling stations opened at 08:00 and will close at 20:00, after which the counting will begin.
