Will the Halftime Duration of Football Matches Change?
FIFA is considering options for changing the halftime duration of football matches. Currently, halftime lasts for 15 minutes, but it may be extended to up to 25 minutes.
Notably, the aim of this change is not to provide players with more rest but rather to allow more time for marketing and advertisements. This change will be tested in several upcoming tournaments.
FIFA will make a decision on this matter following a meeting scheduled for October 27.
