Yesterday's Provocations Were Not the Only Ones, Says Artsakh President's Spokesperson
The authorities of Artsakh are doing everything possible to take some restraining measures in negotiations with the relevant structures, as these actions endanger the natural right of Artsakh residents to live in their own home, said Lusine Avanesyan, spokesperson for the President of Artsakh, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia, commenting on the recent Azerbaijani provocations.
“Yesterday's provocations were not the only ones, as Azerbaijan continued its actions today in the northeastern section of the contact line. A sanitary vehicle of the Defense Army was targeted. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Thank God, the condition of the injured is normal,” noted the President's spokesperson.
According to Avanesyan, the Azerbaijanis display the same behavior that has existed for years, namely, to intimidate the Artsakh Armenians, although there are deeper reasons and political goals that the Azerbaijani authorities are striving to achieve.
She stated that the recent incidents are being investigated, appropriate analyses are being conducted, and measures are being taken to prevent further Azerbaijani provocations.
It is noteworthy that the Azerbaijani armed forces attacked the New Shen settlement in the Martuni region of Artsakh last night. Tension was also reported in the South village of the Askeran region. There are 6 injuries on the Armenian side. Russian peacekeepers have taken steps on the ground to stabilize the situation. The Azerbaijani side has continued to violate the ceasefire today, October 15, targeting the Defense Army's sanitary vehicle in the northeastern direction of Artsakh.
