The Azerbaijani Position from Which the Provocation Was Triggered: Artsakh Prosecutor's Office Reports New Details

The Prosecutor General of Artsakh and the Deputy Prosecutor General visited the site of the incident in the Nor Shen community of the Martuni region yesterday evening. They met with community leader Gevorg Harutyunyan and military personnel. As a result of discussions held on-site, it was revealed that the provocative actions began on October 13 from the Azerbaijani stronghold located just 400 meters away from the Armenian position.

On the day of the incident, our combat positions were openly targeted for an extended period of time (evidence in the form of a photograph is presented below), endangering the life and health of personnel performing duties at the Armenian position tasked with ensuring the safety of the civilian settlement. On October 14, the Azerbaijani side targeted the Armenian servicemen's shelter with larger caliber weapons, resulting in six injuries, two of whom were classified as in serious condition by medical professionals. The lives of the injured were saved thanks to the unprecedented operational efforts of the Nor Shen community leader and military personnel.

Law enforcement agencies are undertaking procedural actions to clarify the circumstances of the incident. Provocative acts were also carried out in the form of gunfire from Azerbaijani positions located near the southern Martuni region and the Myurishen community.

Immediately after the incident, Russian peacekeepers moved to the hotspots of tension, after which the gunfire ceased.

Recent events indicate that the Azerbaijani side is attempting to create panic among the civilian population through provocative actions in various sectors of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan contact line, as evidenced by the killing of Aram Tepnants, who was engaged in agricultural work in the territory of the Martakert urban community.
