New Head Appointed to Yerevan Investigative Department

On October 11, 2021, by the order of the President of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, Argishti Kyaramyan, Mher Khachaturov Vardanyan, a first-class advisor of justice, has been appointed as the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Yerevan, having been relieved of his duties as the head of the Special Assignments, Organizational-Analytical, and Forensic Directorate of the Investigative Committee, as reported by the Information and Public Relations Division of the Investigative Committee.

Biography
Mher Khachaturov Vardanyan, head of the Yerevan Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, was born on October 20, 1979, in Yerevan.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University in 2002. From 2001 to 2003, he served in the Armed Forces of Armenia. Between 2003 and 2006, he held the position of an investigator in the Malatia Investigation Division of the Yerevan Investigative Department of the General Investigation Directorate of the Police of Armenia. From 2006 to 2007, he served as an investigator in the Yerevan Investigative Department of the General Investigation Directorate of the Police of Armenia. From 2007 to 2009, he worked as a senior investigator in the Major Crimes Investigation Division of the Yerevan Investigative Department, later promoted to senior investigator. From 2009 to 2011, he served as a senior investigator in the Monitoring-Methodological and Analytical Division of the Yerevan Investigative Department. From 2011 to 2014, he was the head of the Nor Nork Investigation Division of the Yerevan Investigative Department. Between 2014 and 2020, he served as the head of the Kotayk Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. From 2020 to 2021, he held the position of head of the Special Assignments, Organizational-Analytical, and Forensic Directorate of the Investigative Committee.

By the decree of the President of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, effective October 14 of this year, Mher Khachaturov Vardanyan has been appointed head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Yerevan.

For his diligence in carrying out his official duties, he has been awarded letters of recognition by the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, the Chief of Police of Armenia, the President of the Investigative Committee of Artsakh, the Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia, the Director of the National Security Service of Armenia, and the President of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

He is married and has three children. Mher Vardanyan participated in the aggressive war unleashed by Azerbaijan in September 2020.
