Iran's Foreign Ministry Denies Aliyev's Drug-related Claims
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh has categorically denied Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's statement that the Iranian side is involved in drug trafficking in the Caucasus region. This has been reported by TASS.
The diplomat stated that "such accusations only serve the interests of Israel, which are aimed at deteriorating the fraternal relations between the Iranian and Azerbaijani peoples."
"Unfortunately, despite positive personal messages from Baku during all possible contacts, Azerbaijan intends to continue making baseless statements for the media, to which the Iranian side will respond accordingly," Khatibzadeh said.
