Earthquake Recorded in Georgia

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3 has occurred 12 kilometers away from the village of Sameba in the Ninotsminda region of Samtskhe-Javakheti. This was reported by Aliq.ge.

According to the National Center for Seismic Monitoring of Georgia, the underground tremors were recorded at 12:51 local time, with the epicenter at a depth of 3 kilometers.

It should be noted that the area bordering Dmanisi and Ninotsminda (Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti) in the southeastern part of the country has recently become an active seismic zone. Tremors occur here almost every day.

Seismologists indicate that throughout the summer, periodic tremors were recorded in this region, mainly with magnitudes of 3-4. A relatively strong earthquake was recorded near Sameba on August 16, with a magnitude of 5.1.
