Will Putin Serve as President Until 84? Talks About Future Plans
Russian President Vladimir Putin gave an interview to American CNBC television at the conclusion of the plenary session of the Russian Energy Week forum.
In response to host Hadley Gamble's question about whether he plans to serve until the age of 84, Putin stated that the constitution allows him to run for another term, but no decision has been made on this matter yet.
Regarding questions about his potential successor, Putin mentioned that he prefers not to answer such questions. “This is my traditional response. There is still a lot of time until the next elections,” he said.
The President of Russia emphasized that discussions on this topic destabilize the situation. “The situation must be calm and stable so that all state bodies and institutions can work confidently and look to the future with tranquility,” Putin added.
