Why is the cost of the test in 'Nor Arabkir' 15,000 drams, and how does the Ministry of Health explain it? Details
Former member of the 'Citizen's Decision' Social-Democratic Party, Garegin Miskaryan, posted on his Facebook page that the cost of the test at the 'Nor Arabkir' health center is 15,000 drams.
'How can this be explained? Are they taking advantage of the situation, is it their right, or are they violating the minister's order?' he questioned.
Auroranews contacted the press secretary of the Minister of Health, Hripsime Khachatryan. She expressed surprise as to why the question was directed to them. According to the spokesperson, the Ministry has no involvement in pricing. There is no order or decision that stipulates that laboratories or medical centers must set a particular price.
We also reached out to the 'Nor Arabkir' medical facility, which clarified that it is not the health center performing the testing but that they collaborate under a contract with 'Davidyan Laboratories'. They carry out the sampling and provide the results. The price is set according to this contract. However, the center noted that it has been decided to amend the contract and reduce the price. It remains unclear how much it will cost, but preliminary information suggests it will drop to 12,000 drams.
