According to the newspaper “Joghourt,” the authorities have concentrated all their resources in the city of Gyumri, where local self-government elections will be held on October 17. The ruling party's candidate is Hovhannes Harutyunyan, the former governor of Shirak.

During these days, several members of the ruling party, particularly the deputies from the Shirak region, are in Gyumri around the clock. With only a few days left until the elections, they have decided not to return to Yerevan but to conduct campaigning from morning until night, meeting people and making promises.
