Average Salary in Armenia for This Year Announced

The average salary in Armenia for 2021 is 216,665 AMD. After a government meeting, the head of the State Revenue Committee, Rustam Badasyan, spoke to journalists about factors affecting state budget revenues, mentioning also the number of jobs available.

“As of August, the number of jobs was 642,292, and the taxable base was around 139.1 billion AMD. The average salary is 216,665 AMD. This significantly exceeds the figures for 2019 and 2020,” Badasyan said.

According to the head of the SRC, the taxes paid from commercial transactions have also increased. The growth in transactions is at 24%, with the difference in amounts compared to 2019-2020 reaching 24.8 billion AMD.

Badasyan addressed whether Armenia should expect an increase in tax burdens next year. He noted that economic growth indicators impact state budget revenues. There is a goal to improve taxes-GDP ratio by 0.9 percentage points, of which 0.5 is related to administrative efficiency.

“This is quite an ambitious program. The SRC has been tasked with a unique challenge, which is, of course, related to economic growth indicators and we need to significantly improve administrative efficiency,” concluded the head of the SRC.
