Lawyer Raises Alarm: "Vermishyan Is Being Transferred to Punishment Cell for Alleged Disciplinary Violation - This is a State Order"

Lawyer Alexander Kochubaev wrote on his Facebook page: "In fact, subjecting an individual to political persecution is the first round of the problem. Today, I learned that the administration of Nubarashen Penitentiary intends to transfer former head of the Urban Development Committee of Armenia, Vahagn Vermishyan, to a punishment cell for supposedly allowing a disciplinary violation two weeks ago. It is evident that this is a state order, a brutal and inhumane treatment aimed at suppressing Vermishyan; otherwise, transferring someone to a punishment cell today for an alleged violation that occurred two weeks ago makes no logical sense. I call on the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and the Ministry of Justice of Armenia to pay attention, as this constitutes an attempt at torture."
