Man Enters Hospital ER Under Pretense of Measuring Blood Pressure, Locks Door and Demands Phones from Medical Staff
On the night of October 13, a report was received by the police department of Artik that urgent police assistance was needed at the emergency room of the "Artik" medical center. The operational group, which quickly responded to the alert, immediately proceeded to the medical facility. This information was provided by the police.
Upon arrival, it was determined that a 35-year-old man had entered the hospital's emergency room under the pretext of measuring his blood pressure. He locked the entrance door with a key and then, brandishing a knife, demanded that the on-duty nurse place mobile phones on the table and give him any cash they had.
The police of Artik, displaying professional skills and appropriately assessing the situation, used physical force to neutralize the man, confiscated the knife, and took him into custody. A criminal case has been initiated by the territorial investigative body regarding the incident. The man, who had been previously convicted of robbery, has been arrested. Circumstances are being clarified during the pre-trial investigation.
