Father and Daughter Hospitalized After Serious Car Accident in Shirak Province

A serious car accident occurred in Shirak Province yesterday, October 12. Around 4:00 PM, 70-year-old Hamlet U., a resident of Shirak Province, lost control of his Lexus vehicle on the 2nd kilometer stretch of the Gyumri-Vanadzor highway and crashed into a tree.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, both the driver Hamlet U. and a passenger, 43-year-old Armenouhi U., were transported to the Gyumri Medical Center with bodily injuries.

Officers from the 2nd platoon of the 2nd company of the Road Police arrived at the scene quickly, led by Platoon Commander Vache Malakyan and Squad Commander Petros Petrosyan. The investigative team at the site was headed by Investigator Meliksetyan from the same platoon, who is preparing materials regarding the incident.

A firefighting team from the Shirak Regional Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations also arrived on the scene promptly. The firefighters disabled the vehicle's electricity and cordoned off the area.

According to G. Shamshyan’s sources, the driver and the injured passenger are father and daughter.
