Woman Charged with Killing Mother Using Psychotropic Drugs and Attempting Suicide

The Shirak Regional Court has accepted the prosecution's motion to take 56-year-old K.M., a resident of the Mush 2 neighborhood in Gyumri, into custody for two years. This was reported to Aravot.am by Shirak Regional Prosecutor Gurgen Grigoryan.

It is noteworthy that this woman, living with her 84-year-old mother, decided to assist her in alleviating her suffering by administering psychotropic drugs, including "Cyclodol," "Diazepam," and "Haloperidol," totaling 72 tablets. Subsequently, she also ingested 102 tablets of the same psychotropic drugs in an attempt to take her own life, leading to a comatose state.

K.M. is registered at the Gyumri Mental Health Center. Both the mother and daughter were taken to the Gyumri Medical Center due to poisoning. The mother passed away a week later without regaining consciousness. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 104 of the RA Criminal Code, which pertains to murder, and under Part 1 of Article 110, which pertains to the characteristics of suicide.
