VIDEO: How a Police Officer Rescued a 12-Year-Old Girl Who Fell from a Bridge into the Velikaya River

A police officer in Pskov rescued a 12-year-old girl who had fallen from a bridge into the Velikaya River.

“I somehow stripped without hesitation and jumped into the water. When I jumped, I felt my breath taken away; the water was very cold. Well, something made me swim further, and my breath returned. When I came out, it felt as if I were out of strength,” he recounted.

When Malyshev reached the shore swimming, passersby and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations assisted him. The girl was handed over to medical professionals, and her health is not in danger.

The police officer stated that he does not see himself as a hero.
