Murder in Yerevan: Multiple Stab Wounds Inflicted on Russian Citizen
On October 12, a murder occurred in Yerevan. Around 01:40, the police operational control center received a call reporting that a dispute had taken place near one of the houses in the 1st Amaranotsayin street in the Victory neighborhood, during which a citizen had been stabbed.
According to shamshyan.com from the scene, the information was promptly relayed to the police department of Yerevan and the Malatia police station.
Police and investigators determined that on the same day, around 01:30, a quarrel erupted over parking near the indicated addresses 51A and 53. During the altercation, a local resident, 46-year-old Eghish G., inflicted stab wounds on 46-year-old Nelsik K., a Russian citizen who had come to the area. The victim was transported in critical condition to the “Astghik” medical center by a neighbor, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
The situation was tense, but the police managed to calm the parties involved to allow investigators to examine the scene.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated on the basis of Article 104, Part 1, of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia by decision of the head of the Malatia investigative department, H. Ghazaryan. H. Shahbandaryan has been appointed as the head of the investigative group, and several examinations have been ordered, including a forensic examination of the body.
The police and the investigative department are conducting necessary operational-investigative joint actions to locate Eghish G. on suspicion of murder and to find the knife used in the crime.
