What Did Pashinyan and Garibashvili Discuss at the 'Apricot' Restaurant? Did He Bring News from Erdogan? Melik-Shahnazaryan

The working visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to Armenia went largely unnoticed. Political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan wrote on his Facebook page, "The parties only issued a brief announcement about the start of his visit. But what was discussed afterward, what was decided, and why did Pashinyan and Garibashvili spend so long at the 'Apricot' restaurant the day before, remains unknown. The press services of the governments of the two countries have chosen to remain silent.

Meanwhile, Mr. Garibashvili's visit should have been quite substantive. First, it is interesting whether he brought news from Erdogan for Pashinyan or if there are still no updates. Secondly, a more important question concerns the prospects of the so-called '3+3' regional cooperation project. Three days ago, the Georgian Foreign Minister stated that cooperating with Russia in this format would not be easy for them, but it is necessary. Why is it necessary? Who is it necessary for? For Georgia or for Turkey, which is the real and largest beneficiary of this project?

Just a few days ago, I wrote about how the Turkish-Azerbaijani alliance is attempting to form a new platform for Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations through Georgia. Garibashvili seems to have happily embraced this burden. He is actively communicating with the authorities of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, and it appears he has already gained everyone's trust.

The third important issue is Iran's initiated 'Persian Gulf - Black Sea' transport corridor, which is expected to pass through Armenian territory. What is Georgia's position regarding this? Is there any clarity? Will the official Tbilisi be able to withstand Turkish-Azerbaijani and Western pressures related to this project?

The governments of Armenia and Georgia continue to maintain a mysterious silence on all these issues. Only toasts and well-wishes. Meanwhile, it is evident that the region is undergoing a phase of serious transformations, and Georgia plays a significant role in all of this. When the public will be informed about decisions and processes of vital importance to them is perhaps known only to God.

Moreover, according to some reports, Nikol Pashinyan is set to meet Vladimir Putin in Moscow tomorrow. The agenda remains unknown once again," the political scientist noted.
