Azerbaijanis Arrested Following Deaths of 32 Citizens in Orenburg Region
Three Azerbaijanis have been implicated in the mass deaths of residents in the Orenburg region. According to haqqin.az, the death toll from surrogate alcohol has reached 32 in the Orenburg region, with dozens of people currently in intensive care units.
In connection with the poisoning from the tainted product, three Azerbaijanis—Sharlan Bagazade, Sadikh Aliyev, and a relative—have been taken into custody. The detainees are accused under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Producing goods that do not meet safety requirements).
Reports of poisoning from counterfeit alcohol began to surface on the night of October 7. Investigators and police have discovered a storage and production site, confiscating over 600 liters of alcohol-containing liquid. Six criminal cases have been initiated, which have been consolidated into a single proceeding.
