New Details on Building Collapse in Batumi: Arrests Made
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has reported the arrest of three individuals in connection with the investigation into the collapse of a residential building in Batumi. Those arrested include the apartment owner and two workers. This information was relayed by РИА Новости.
According to the latest data, rescuers have recovered the bodies of five victims from the rubble. Among the deceased are two minors. It is feared that three children may still be trapped under the debris.
The investigation has revealed that the owner of an apartment on the first floor of a building on May 26 Street had contracted Z.B. and K.S. to carry out construction and renovation work, which they executed in gross violation of safety regulations, ultimately leading to the collapse.
