Concerns Over Azerbaijani Fortifications Near Syunik: Abrahamyan

The threats and risks created in Syunik continue to persist. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the "Honorary Title" parliamentary group, during a briefing, providing details about his visit to Syunik.

According to the MP, Azerbaijan is actively engaged in construction works in areas under its control along the border, which he claims serve both military and civilian purposes. "It is also very concerning that in the areas adjacent to Syunik, which are under Azerbaijani control, there are Azerbaijani fortifications associated with the deployment of border military units and infrastructure construction works," said the MP.

Tigran Abrahamyan also emphasized that although the alternative Tatev-Aghvan road may resolve certain issues, it will not address the entire security question pertaining to Syunik.
