Azerbaijan Has Started Mass Arrests of Pro-Iranian Figures in Its Territory: Abovyan

The regional great game continues. This was stated by former MP Arman Abovyan on his Facebook page.

'Turkey and Iran have closed the transit of cargo trucks to each other. Iran has raised its anti-Azerbaijani propaganda to the highest level and continues to accumulate troops in the border areas adjacent to Azerbaijan. Pakistan and Turkey, in turn, are deploying troops in the border areas with Iran. According to English media, modern Israeli fighter jets – F-35s – have appeared in Azerbaijan, capable of striking Iranian nuclear infrastructure. The Turks and Azerbaijanis are conducting emergency military exercises in Nakhchivan. Just in the last two days, eight heavy Israeli aircraft carrying military cargo have arrived in Baku. The Israeli political elite is encouraging Azerbaijan on various public platforms not to fear confrontation with Iran. Azerbaijan has begun mass arrests of representatives of pro-Iranian circles within its territory. Russia views Iranian military-diplomatic movements in the region very positively, with 'neutrality'. The Americans are in no rush to 'condemn' Iran, which is making the Azerbaijani elite nervous. Iran is effectively burying the economic viability of the so-called 'Zangezur corridor', proposing and financing the North-South project. China is observing closely, but seems to have no significant objections to Iranian activity. This segment of the regional great game is still far from resolution.

And only Armenia's super-peaceful, highly professional, steel yet simultaneously velvet authorities have neither the desire nor the interest in what 'game' is being played for our sovereign territories. I am serious; the 'proud' authorities of the Republic of Armenia completely disregard responding appropriately and coherently to the situation, as they believe two 'steel' facts are in play: 1. Nothing depends on them anymore, in every sense. 2. No matter what happens, the blame will be placed on the 'bad guys', 'the former ones', 'the treacherous forces', in short, everyone except themselves. Don't believe me?
