Armenian Side Must Consider Possibilities of '3+3' Negotiation Format: MP

The Armenian side must consider and understand the possibilities of the '3+3' negotiation format. This was stated by MP Vahagn Aleksanyan from the 'Civil Contract' parliamentary faction during traditional briefings at the National Assembly of Armenia.

Aleksanyan emphasized the necessity of understanding its potential appropriateness. 'The Prime Minister of Armenia has already announced from the parliamentary podium that it is necessary, for starters, to form a better understanding of this format, to comprehend what it is about, what goals are being pursued, what parties are involved, and what interests are at stake. Only after this can we form our own perception of this format,' he noted.

In response to the question of whether this format could be imposed on Armenia, he said he excludes the possibility of the format being imposed on Armenia. 'I repeat, we are currently in the phase of study, considering the appropriateness or inappropriateness of this format.'

It should be noted that on October 6, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced, following negotiations with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, that he discussed the initiative to create a '3+3' negotiation format involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
