What Concerns Iran in the South Caucasus: Interview with Iranian Foreign Minister on Russian Media
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has given an interview to the "Russia 24" television channel, discussing his meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister and the situation in the region. He stated, "Armenia and Azerbaijan are our good neighbors, and we cannot work with one against the other. Our foreign policy is balanced," said Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
He raised the question, "What concerns us in the South Caucasus," highlighting that "certain foreign forces are trying to influence the region by altering borders or closing border crossings. At the same time, we are paying attention to the terrorists that emerged during the Nagorno-Karabakh war. I must also mention the provocative actions of the Zionist regime from Azerbaijan’s territory in our region. We consider this unacceptable, but all of this must be resolved in a friendly atmosphere."
The official also addressed the proposal to discuss the issues of the South Caucasus in the "3+3" format during his meeting with Lavrov.
