We Met with Azerbaijanis. They Have No Answers Regarding the Captives, Says Marukyan

“We met with Azerbaijanis. They have no answers regarding the issue of holding captives,” said Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia party, during an interview on 24TV’s “Interview” program.

Marukyan expressed the belief that Azerbaijan has defeated Armenia for 20 years on international platforms, and now they are once again manipulating the narrative, suggesting that we do not want peace and that we are the occupiers.

He detailed the closed discussions with the Azerbaijanis in Vienna, mentioning that the conversation was very open, and they successfully presented Armenian theses, further cornering the Azeris under international law by condemning the use of force.

Marukyan also noted that the Azerbaijanis in Vienna didn't even know what to say about the captives, having no answers for why they are holding Armenian prisoners of war.

He emphasized that public opinion is shrouded in ignorance. “In reality, we must engage in dialogue with the Azerbaijanis on all platforms; we cannot escape discussions with them. The Armenian perspective must be heard,” Marukyan stated.
