Pfizer Applies for Authorization to Vaccinate Children Aged 5-12

Today, the American company Pfizer submitted a request to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for permission to vaccinate children aged 5-12 with their vaccine.

Jeff Zients, coordinator for COVID-19 at the White House, announced that the pharmaceutical company's application will be up for discussion. According to him, the rollout of Pfizer’s vaccine for children could begin by the end of November.

“The FDA plans to discuss this with its advisory panel later this month, and then the same will be done by the CDC,” Zients stated in an interview with CNN.

It is worth noting that Pfizer already has a vaccine available for children aged 12 and older. Citizens receiving this vaccine will receive a total of three doses.
