Can Allergies Be a Reason Not to Get Vaccinated? The Minister Responds

The Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan was asked today whether a doctor from the polyclinic can issue a certificate stating that a citizen has a contraindication, for example, due to allergies, which could prevent them from being vaccinated.

“I should note that allergies are not a contraindication unless they are specifically related to a particular vaccine. In other words, we need to clarify what the issue is,” Avanesyan said in an interview with Hraparak.am.

- If a certificate is issued by a polyclinic doctor regarding any other contraindication listed in your guidelines, could that serve as a basis for a citizen to not get vaccinated?

- Don't you see any corruption risks here, that people could obtain false certificates about contraindications through an acquaintance doctor and avoid vaccination?
