Azerbaijan Has Stopped Using Our Airspace Since 2014, Ask Them Why: Tatevik Revazyan
The President of the Civil Aviation Committee, Tatevik Revazyan, addressed the incident involving an Azerbaijani aircraft passing through Armenian airspace to Nakhchivan during a broadcast on Public Television today.
“Armenia has not closed its airspace, and Azerbaijan has not actually closed its airspace to Armenian carriers, except for the 44-day war,” she stated.
In response to a clarifying question regarding whether Armenia and Azerbaijan have ever closed their airspaces for flights and if it has been possible to utilize each other's air routes when necessary, the President of the Civil Aviation Committee answered, “It has never been closed. Azerbaijan has stopped using our airspace since 2014; ask them why. As for why we have not utilized Azerbaijani air routes, it simply has not been commercially advantageous,” she emphasized.
