Armen Khachatryan Is Committed to the Cause: They Must Defeat Arush Arushanyan

The newspaper "Zhoghoyrout" reports that Armenian National Assembly member Armen Khachatryan from the "Civil Contract" faction is putting in significant effort to secure victory in the Goriss community mayoral elections. According to sources within the ruling party, Khachatryan has been tasked with implementing a "revolution" in Goris.

It is reported that this is also the reason why Armen Khachatryan has guaranteed the candidacy of Vladimir Abunts, the former head of the customs checkpoint division of the Meghri customs administration in southern Armenia, for the mayoral elections. Yesterday, Khachatryan brought Abunts to the parliament and organized a meeting with various members of the faction. He held separate meetings with faction leader Hayk Konjoryan and faction secretary Nazeni Baghdasaryan.

The citizens of Goris know Abunts as a customs officer who has been part of that system since 1998. Abunts has served as a customs inspector for cargo at the regional customs of Syunik, then as a senior inspector, chief inspector, and head of the customs clearance division. According to our sources within the power structure, Abunts was recently "converted" to the Civil Contract party and involved in the political party and processes because they have been searching for a strong candidate in Goris for a long time.

Ultimately, Civil Contract member Armen Khachatryan proposed Vladimir Abunts from among his close associates. Whether the people of Goris will cast their votes for Abunts remains uncertain, as the elections scheduled for October 17 are expected to be intense.
