Tatul Hakobyan: Moscow-Yerevan Flight Landed in Baku in the 2000s with Our Beloved Tigran Arzakanzyan Aboard
Journalist Tatul Hakobyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Dear journalists/media outlets, the air border between Armenia and Azerbaijan has never been closed. Indeed, since 2014, Azerbaijan has decided not to use Armenian airspace any longer to avoid paying fees and to cause us harm.
Moreover, there have been several charter flights between Yerevan and Baku during the 90s and 2000s for internationals, of course. Additionally, in the 2000s, a Moscow-Yerevan flight once landed in Baku due to technical reasons, and our beloved Tigran Arzakanzyan was aboard that aircraft.
Of course, it is particularly significant that starting today, Azerbaijan has decided to utilize Armenian airspace again after seven years. Why? Well, probably to send a message to Iran and to create a bit of discord in the Yerevan-Tehran relations, among other things."
