Respond to the Concerns of Ijevan Residents: What Awaits Them - Nazaryan

It is the right time for the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports to present to the public the scope and billions of construction works that were carried out in Shushi from May 8, 1992, until September 27, 2020. It is the right moment for the public to know what kind of educational institutions, museums, and monuments have been built in our beloved Shushi. These statements were made by Gegham Nazaryan, a member of the ‘Armenia’ alliance, during a question-and-answer session with the government, directing a question to Minister Vahram Dumanyan.

“At the same time, I believe that the government representative should respond to the concerns of the residents of Ijevan. The thing is, after hearing the explanations regarding what happened in Shushi, the residents of Ijevan are asking themselves: if Shushi, where so many museums, educational institutions, buildings, and churches were built, faced this fate, then what awaits Ijevan, where nothing comparable has been constructed,” he added.

In response to the question, Dumanyan noted that questions regarding the numerical description of the buildings constructed in Shushi from 1992 until today should be submitted in writing. “As for what awaits Ijevan, a brilliant future awaits Ijevan. Your question is a formality; its content is something else. I am no less aware of the buildings constructed in Shushi than you are. If you wish to publish, go ahead. We will respond in writing. I do not share that gloomy perspective; no dark future awaits any city or village in Armenia, particularly Ijevan,” he stated.
