Iran Receives Signals from Biden Regarding Reviving Nuclear Deal

During the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Americans relayed messages to Iranian representatives regarding U.S. President Joe Biden's intentions to implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) concerning Iran's nuclear program. This was stated by Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian at a press conference following negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday, according to TASS.

“You know, when I was in New York at that time, I was receiving messages through intermediaries from the Americans. The essence of those messages was that the Americans were trying to emphasize that respected Mr. Biden has serious intentions to implement the JCPOA, as well as to pay special attention to the realization of the rights and interests of the Iranian people within the framework of those agreements,” said the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Tehran is working on resuming negotiations on Iran's nuclear program (JCPOA) in Vienna, with timelines to be determined in the near future, stated Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. “We are currently working in Tehran to return to those negotiations (in Vienna). We will determine the time for returning to the negotiations in the near future,” added the Iranian Foreign Minister.
