We Will Fully Contest the Compensation System in the Constitutional Court: Vardevanyan
Today, a request has been filed with the Constitutional Court regarding the provision of 250,000 drams to parliamentarians. Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, said this during a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, noting that the purpose of this is unclear and unacceptable in the current complicated socio-economic conditions.
“The compensation system will be fully contested, but only in relation to state and political officials. In other words, the compensation practices concerning the President of Armenia, the Prime Minister, ministers, their deputies, and parliamentarians are being contested. We see no lawful conduct regarding this,” said the parliamentarian.
He also mentioned that they have requested the Constitutional Court to suspend the actions regarding the 250,000 drams. According to the parliamentarian, they will soon present a legislative initiative and try to find a resolution to this issue.
