Serious Confrontation Between Arshak Karapetyan and Armen Abazyan

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "In the context of the scandalous arms sale case, four individuals have already been arrested, including former Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan, arms supplier Davit Galstyan, former head of aviation Avetik Muradyan, and Deputy Chief of the General Staff Stepan Galstyan.

According to the newspaper's sources, a serious confrontation has occurred between Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan and NSS Director Armen Abazyan due to this case. Karapetyan opposed raising such a global scandal and arresting current and former high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Defense.

The names of NSS customs and intelligence staff are also being discussed in the context of the case. The question has been put forth as either-or: either the NSS personnel must be punished for such omissions, in which they may have also been complicit, or the officials from the Ministry of Defense; Abazyan has proven to be the stronger party in this matter."
