Iran's Foreign Minister Travels to Moscow
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian departed for Moscow from Tehran on Tuesday afternoon. The trip is being made at the official invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday, Amirabdollahian and Lavrov are expected to discuss various issues including the threats of terrorism, the fight against illegal drug trafficking, international investments in the post-conflict era, and the reconstruction of Afghanistan. Additionally, they will address Moscow's and Tehran's principled positions on the situation in Syria, the resumption of negotiations on the revival of the Iran nuclear deal, and the most pressing regional issues.
