Iranian Delegation Heads to Yerevan: What Will Be Discussed
The Iranian delegation has headed to Yerevan to discuss Iran's participation in the construction of a transit route in Armenia, which will serve as an alternative to the Goris-Kapan interstate road. This information is reported by the Mehr agency.
The delegation is led by Khairollah Khademi, the Iranian Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Director General of the Transportation Infrastructure Development Agency.
It is noteworthy that over the past month, Azerbaijan has imposed strict regulations on Iranian cargo vehicles crossing through the Azerbaijani checkpoint located in Syunik.
“This is given that only 20 kilometers of the 400-kilometer road from the Norduz border checkpoint to Yerevan passes through the ‘Republic of Azerbaijan’,” the news agency writes.
Iranian truck drivers have faced difficulties such as having to pay additional fees to cross the 20-kilometer route.
