Hearing Date Revealed in Saakashvili Case

The court hearing for former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is set to take place on November 10. This was announced by his lawyer Beka Basilaya, who noted that this is one of the cases involving the former president.

It is important to mention that Saakashvili is charged with official misconduct, and a guilty verdict has been rendered in two cases against him, which entail prison sentences of up to six years. The remaining cases are still ongoing. He has also been charged with illegally entering Georgian territory.

The Georgian Prosecutor's Office has stated that the issue of Saakashvili's extradition is not being discussed, and he will have to serve his sentence in his homeland.

Moreover, the current Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, has accused Saakashvili of preparing for the assassination of an opposition member to incite unrest and to blame the authorities, thereby destabilizing the situation in the country.
