Arthur Ghazinyan's 6th Attempt Fails Again: Not Elected as Deputy Chairman of the Committee
At the meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, the issue of electing a vice-chairman was discussed. The "Armenia" faction once again nominated Arthur Ghazinyan for the position.
The ruling majority failed to elect Ghazinyan as the deputy chairman of the committee for the sixth time. The opposition had earlier left the meeting hall.
Committee chairman Andranik Kocharyan noted during the previous meeting on September 28 that if the "Armenia" faction nominates the same candidate again and he is not elected, then the "Civil Contract" party will propose a legislative initiative to regulate the matter differently. The following amendment will be made: "If the same person is not elected as deputy chairman of the committee 2 times, then the competent faction must nominate a new candidate."
