Lavrov and Alen Simonyan Discuss Cooperation Between Russia and Armenia
The new session of the State Duma of the Russian Federation is set to commence soon, enabling the resumption of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Russia and Armenia. This was stated today by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a meeting in Moscow with the President of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan.
“The State Duma elections have just taken place. The Duma is beginning to function fully day by day. This will allow for a full resumption of cooperation in the parliamentary sphere,” said Lavrov.
Alen Simonyan has arrived in Russia for a three-day official visit. During his trip, Simonyan is scheduled to meet with senior officials from Russia.
It is noteworthy that the elections to the Russian State Duma were held from September 17-19 in a three-day format. Five parties entered the State Duma: “United Russia,” the Communist Party, the party led by Vladimir Zhirinovsky, “Fair Russia,” and the “New People” party.
