Makunts Calls Police to Disperse Silent Protest of Young ARF Members
The newly appointed ambassador of Armenia to the United States, Lilit Makunts, has called the police to disperse a silent protest by young members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF). This information was reported by the official ARF website.
Makunts organized an event at the Armenian embassy in Washington to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Armenia. Outside, young ARF members gathered to protest, labeling the ongoing event as offensive while Armenian prisoners of war remain in Baku.
According to the participants of the protest, this issue should have been prioritized. Embassy staff initially asked the protesters to leave, but they refused, insisting they were not violating any laws.
Later, the embassy called in secret service agents to remove those gathered. Notably, when asked by the young protesters if they were breaking any laws, the police responded negatively.
