Prosecutor's Office Does Not Deny Reports of Deputy Chief of General Staff's Arrest
The Prosecutor's Office has not denied reports regarding the arrest of Stepan Galstyan, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces. In response to a question from Factinfo, the Prosecutor General's Office stated that they are not providing information at this stage, and that the investigative body will inform the public about the actions taken during the investigation at an appropriate time.
It is noteworthy that Galstyan was recently questioned by the National Security Service in connection with a high-profile arms case.
Recall that a criminal case has been initiated by the NSS, which relates to an arms and ammunition tender conducted in 2011, and within the framework of which the former head of military aviation, Avetik Muradyan, has been arrested. Former Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan and arms supplier Davit Galstyan (Patron Davit) have also been implicated.
