Charges Against Arushanyan, Yolyan, and Hovsepyan: Pre-Trial Investigation Completed

The Chief Investigation Department of the Special Investigative Service of Armenia has completed the preliminary investigation into a criminal case regarding abuses within the Goris Municipality, including misappropriation of community budget resources and coercing community residents to participate in pre-election campaigning.

As a result of the investigative and procedural actions conducted during the pre-trial proceedings, it has been revealed and substantiated that Irina Yolyan, the acting head of the Goris municipality, during her tenure, ahead of the extraordinary parliamentary elections on June 20, 2021, conspired with Menua Hovsepyan, the deputy head of the municipality, and two other employees of the municipality to manage community budgetary funds in violation of established procedures.
