Any Status within Azerbaijan is Unacceptable for Artsakh: Babayan on Aliyev's Statement
Any status within Azerbaijan is unacceptable for Artsakh. This was stated by Artsakh Foreign Minister David Babayan in an interview with NEWS.am, commenting on the recent statement by the President of Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev recently declared that the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh previously sought independence, but now they have started to speak about autonomy within Azerbaijan, which is unacceptable to him. In this context, there are active attempts to promote terms such as ‘cooperation between the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities of Karabakh’ and ‘establishing connections.’
What can you say about this? Any status within Azerbaijan is unacceptable for Artsakh. This is the collective opinion of the entire population of Artsakh, which has been, is, and will remain unchanged.
In this context, we also find it essential to mention that we do not recognize the so-called ‘Azerbaijani community of Karabakh,’ which is nothing more than an artificial structure created by official Baku, intended to undermine the status of the Artsakh statehood.
The Republic of Artsakh is ready to negotiate with Azerbaijan on an equal footing and discuss all, even the most complex issues and their solutions.
