Who Should Oversee the Disgraceful State of Public Transport: Kostanyan
Former MP Anna Kostanyan wrote on her Facebook page: “Officials and public figures who blame the spread of the virus, numerous deaths, and society's irresponsibility should ideally reflect on their own seriousness, their degree of professionalism, and the unprofessional approaches they take when misleading the public in every possible way.
It is interesting why none of those critics recalled the untimely deaths caused by the coronavirus during the September 21 celebrations, or why they did not urge the same officials to wear masks throughout the event. I highly doubt that everyone present was vaccinated, and only a few were wearing masks. When police were checking concert attendees, why weren’t you urging them to wear masks during the concert, especially when masks were indeed necessary for such a large gathering? Have you considered that this very public event might have caused the rise in today's numbers, considering the incubation period of the coronavirus is 14 days (if I remember correctly)?
So who should oversee the disgraceful state of public transport, where hundreds of thousands travel every day without masks from home to work, classes, and other places? Why not impose regulations here and civically urge people not to jeopardize public health? Or is the collective irresponsibility of the people the best way to cover up the officials' unprofessionalism and evade responsibility for their own mistakes? Society, with all its 'charm,' is a mirror of the government: as the government is, so is the face of society—do not complain about the expressions of your own face.”
