Songs of Hayko to Echo at Republic Square and Metro

Today and tomorrow evening, from 20:00 to 22:00, the songs of Hayko will be played at Republic Square. The Mayor of Yerevan, Hayk Marutyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "He left us at a blooming age, leaving his song unfinished. Hayko was not only a high-class artist and a refined singer but also an exceptional musician, a bearer and promoter of his own unique style in the art of song. He was a singer of love, a reviver of old romances, but he also kept the pulse of our times alive with his works," wrote Marutyan.

It is noteworthy that the Yerevan Metro has also announced that in all stations of the Karen Demirchyan Yerevan Metro, Hayko's works, including soundtracks from a number of contemporary films, have been playing since early morning.

Let us remind you that the singer and composer Hayko passed away yesterday at the age of 48. He had contracted the coronavirus and had been in the hospital for an extended period.

The memorial service for Hayko will take place today at 18:00 at the St. John Church (Kond).
